I am EXTREMELY excited to welcome you to the next chapter in our business development.Impressive Werewolf

I've lived in Thailand since 2001 and I can still remember the moment I saw these steel statues for the very first time, made entirely from scrap metal.  I remember feeling so stupified by the level of detail and skill involved that many would argue that ten years on, that stupidness has never passed :)

You'll see examples of these great beasts, great characters and great monuments in our portfolio and, whilst impressive in photographs, or on your computer screen, actually walking up to one in the flesh, getting close enough to identify every one of the literally thousands of metal components, to note the attention to detail so obvious on close inspection and to actually run your fingers alongside the sharp menacing contours really defies description.

What fascinated me more, and fired up my entrepreneurial side was that nobody outside of Thailand  knew this type of art even existed.

I founded Art From Steel as a business in 2005 after negotiating an exclusive partnership with our workshop to provide statues to clients overseas.  Until very recently we sold exclusively to distributors due to the high costs of shipping individual statues abroad but we have now opened up to provide statues for retail sale through this site.

Our Lead Artists

Mr P. Insspects his Plastic ModelsArt From Steel brings together the skills of not one but two outstanding and experienced lead artists.  Khun Noi is responsible for recruiting, training and organizing teams of skilled welders to produce a huge range of our smaller statues.  Our other lead artist, Khun P is the true genius behind our most complex designs and his typical week involves designing new statues and offering sincere training to the other skilled artists and creating master models and examples for the other artists to take inspiration from.

Our own contribution comes in bridging the east with the west.  Over time we have developed a fantastic relationship with our clients, taking responsibility for all aspects of the production process; from communicating complex custom designs to our artists, scheduling the resources and artists to get work completed to deadline, quality control, safety control and getting the statues cleaned, packaged, fumigated and shipped around the world.

Our Mission

Our mission may seem simple but there's a lot of work still going on behind the scenes to be the undisputed leader in the industry by taking the actions below:

  • Working as hard as I can to ensure every customer receives the best level of support, care and attention we can offer.

  • Developing loyalty, repeat business and referrals by being attentive to your needs, giving you every opportunity to give us feedback

  • Developing an interactive community where you'll have a stake in every aspect of our business development and in the statues we create.

  • Developing the largest range of scrap metal statues in the world.

  • Building a reputation for jaw-dropping quality works, with 1-time only masterpieces created by our artists that stand over and above any similar artwork on the planet.

This year we have chosen to expand our business beyond wholesale and November 14th 2011 sees the start of this brand new website and business model.  Already we have brought over 200 statues to our warehouse in Mobridge, South Dakota and I really can't wait to get these shipped out to you.

About Me

Martin and Nathan

We are still a small, family-run business and don't want to pretend otherwise.  I run most of the business from home in Bangkok, Thailand with my baby son Nathan and my wife Tik.  I visit the workshop typically 2-3 times a month and I am usually available during US business hours to speak with clients.

I'm English, acting as President and secretary of The True Potential Group Inc. in America (of which Art From Steel is a subsidiary) and I'm based in Thailand - benefiting from the best of all three cultures :)

I'm certainly no artist myself so my role is to make sure that the lead artists are able to manage our production, handle the quality and safety control, handle shipping and distibution, build and manage our websites, mange all marketing, handle your customer experience and I also act as your representative in communicating your requirements to our Thai-artists. Wow, that's a lot of hat's I wear but this really is my passion and I love every part of this job and lifestyle.

I work mainly at night, during US business hours so that I can take care of Nathan, our 10-month old baby during the day time.  I'm a keen endurance runner, avid traveler and I typically sleep just 2 hours a day (seriously!).

Please do explore our new website, subscribe to our newsletters, read our blog updates and treat yourself or your loved ones to our amazing artwork.

If you have any questions, want to discuss a wholesale order, commission something unique or give your feedback on how we're doing then please call us, email us or participate in our Facebook community.

Thank you sincerely for your time and trust,
