OVERVIEW
Tuning a ranad involves the application of a mixture of beeswax and lead shavings underneath the bars being tuned. It is said that playing the ranad requires great skill. It is one of the most important ensemble instruments. Our musical figure, made entirely of steel, shows a ranad player in a classic Thai ensemble.
